Energy Performance Certificates in Cheshire
An Energy Performance Certificate is required when marketing a property for sale or rental.
The report will make recommendations on how to make the property more energy efficient.
Apart from being an EU directive, the purpose of the EPC is to make us more aware of how much domestic energy costs (to us and the environment) and what measures we can take to reduce these costs.
Some measures are relatively low cost (loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, hot water cylinder insulation, thermostatic radiator valves) but are extremely effective in reducing energy bills.
With the cost of energy rising almost daily, we have to be aware of what we can do to reduce our costs and this is what the EPC will tell us.
